George Sr. later
contacted Pavarotti and the general director once again, asking if
George could be allowed backstage to meet Pavarotti after one of the upcoming
season's operas. Pavarotti replied with another letter, saying that he would be
happy to meet George after an opera.

As agreed, after one of the operas, George and his father were shown backstage to meet Pavarotti in person for the first time. Naturally, George Sr. took a picture, which the tenor signed the next time George saw him.
